Saxophonist, pianist, singer, composer and arranger, Assunta Di Pasquale has developed a musical universe shaped by jazz, gospel, Brazilian and Latin influences, with a deep commitment to sharing music with others.

The beginning
Music has been part of Assunta’s life from the very beginning. Raised in a musical family, she started studying piano at a conservatory in Belgium at the age of six and composed her first piece when she was eleven.
During her teenage years, she continued her piano studies while discovering classical saxophone and studying voice at the Sambreville Conservatory.

Jazz & saxophone
Her growing passion for jazz led her to the music of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Paul Desmond, Phil Woods, Ella Fitzgerald, Al Jarreau and Stevie Wonder.
She later studied jazz with Belgian musician and educator Henri Houben, while developing her own voice as a saxophonist, pianist, singer and composer.
Assunta also performed piano at NATO and accompanied official graduation ceremonies at the Brussels American School.

Music to share
Teaching and transmission have always played an important role in her musical journey. She has volunteered as a music teacher in therapeutic and community organisations including Trempoline ASBL, Teen Challenge Belgium and La vie est belle ASBL.
She holds a Master’s degree in saxophone from the Conservatoire Royal de Mons and teaches saxophone, jazz, gospel and music history. She also conducts a wind band and collaborates with cultural centres and educational organisations.
For Assunta, music is not only a means of artistic expression, but also a way to create connection, encourage personal growth and share values of generosity and openness.

Composer & arranger
As a composer and arranger, Assunta writes and develops original music and works with musicians on musical direction and arrangements.
Her recordings have brought her together with artists including Ivan Paduart, Bruno Castellucci, Paolo Loveri, Benoît Vanderstraeten, Jacques Pili, Stefan Bracaval, Antoine Colin, Michel Paré, Raphaël Robyns and Osvaldo Hernandez Napoles, with arrangements by Marco Ciccone and Michel Herr.
Her repertoire continues to evolve through original compositions, jazz, gospel, Latin and Brazilian influences.
